Hey there,
I just wanted to pop in to let you know that my recipe website A kitchen in Istanbul has had a good makeover, with new features and improved navigation. Hopefully this’ll make it even easier to find something you want to make from my recipes!
The most important improvements are:
Much improved recipe index, with the ability to filter by course, cuisine or ingredients.
Ability to scale individual recipes as well as switch between metric and US measurements.
The site has also been given a fresh look with a cleaner design and more modern typography.
For now, A kitchen in Istanbul only includes the freely available recipes, which are supported by ads. The paying subscriber recipes can be accessed here. I’m looking into ways of adding these to the recipe index as well, but I don’t yet have a date for this (it’s unlikely to be very soon). But please know it’s on my to-do list.
With all best wishes for the weekend from sunny Istanbul ☀️

PS! Some of the work with this included manually going through all of the 121 recipes. I’ve been diligent, but I’m sure there are mistakes. Please let me know if you spot a conversion or something else that doesn’t look right.
Looks really good, Vidar! Clean design and easy to navigate. It’s hard finding authentic Turkish recipes on line, and your blog is by far the best source I’ve found. And free! I have one wish: I know you sometimes include the correct pronunciation of the dish, usually further down in the text. It would great if you could include at the top somewhere. Tusen takk!
Congrats! It looks really nice and inviting! 👍Best of luck👏
